There may be no water supply in certain parts of Cork tonight

Put the washing on, STAT.

Irish Water, in partnership with Cork City Council, will be installing new water-mains connections in the Eagle Valley area in Wilton later on tonight.

In a statement issued by Irish Water, there may be a disruption of water supply for homes and businesses in the following areas (+ other surrounding areas):

  • Wilton
  • Eagle Valley
  • Togher
  • Spur Hill
  • Sarsfield Road
  • Elm Vale
  • Elm Park
  • Doughcloyne Industrial Estate
  • Westbury
  • Forrest Ridge
  • Fernwood
  • White Oaks
  • The Headlands

The installation will take place tonight (Tuesday January 11th) from 11pm until Wednesday at 6am, and water may take a further 2-3 hours to turn back on following completion as water refills the networks.

According to Irish Water:

“Work crews will endeavour to complete works ahead of time in order to expedite the return of supply to the affected areas. 

“Irish Water understands this type of work can be inconvenient and will ensure our work crews make every effort to minimise any disruption these works may cause.”
