UCC gets the green light for state-of-the-art new building in the city

This will completely transform the area.

The European Investment Bank (EIB) will be providing €50 million for the completion of a brand new, state-of-the-art building for Cork University Business School (CUBS) in the city centre.

The brand new building will be located between South Terrace and Copley Street at the old Brooks Haughton site, completely transforming the area. Plans for the new building were approved by Cork City Council last April and funding approval was announced by EIB earlier this morning.

Construction on the new CUBS building is expected to commence in May 2024 and, once completed, the new building will bring in approximately 4,500 students and 225 into the city centre every day.

The building will consist of three-six storeys, spanning a total of 15,675 sqm and will include state of the art teaching and research areas, a 350-seat lecture hall, a restaurant and rooftop garden.
