Thyme restaurant has just launched a festive new Christmas menu

Thyme to eat!

Thyme at Seventy Six on the Mall, a boujee new(ish) restaurant on South Mall, has just launched their Christmas menu, and it’s nothing short of tantalising.

To celebrate their focus on sustainability, along with their brand new Ecolabel of environmental excellence for Green Hospitality, Thyme’s new festive menu showcases high quality seasonal produce from local farms and suppliers.

They’ve really pulled out all the stops with this new Christmas menu, which showcases something to suit every tastebud. The large selection of appetisers features everything from lobster & prawn bisque, chilli beef tacos, sesame and cauliflower wings, and even an entire baked camembert marinated in Irish honey & thyme (take my money, now!)

Some of our Craveourite main dishes include the monk fish & chips, which comes served in an ornate bird cage (definitely one for the gram), the Thyme chargrilled Hereford forequarter burger, the Clonakilty chicken supreme, and 8 oz 42 day aged Irish Red Hereford fillet steak.

If you’re after something a little lighter, they also have a selection of five sharing bird cage platters to choose from (the names speak for themselves):

  • Seacuterie
  • Charcuterie
  • Cheesy
  • Meaty
  • Vegany

Oh, and if you’re Craving dessert, you absolutely have to try the Ferrero Rocher choux (hazelnut mousse with hazelnut crisp) and the Imperial mince pie (layered caramel, cinnamon tea cake, and gingerbread crumble). You can check out the rest of the menu in detail, here.

In addition to their sustainability practices, everywhere you see the ★ symbol on the menu, Thyme at Seventy Six on the Mall will donate €1 to their charity partners whenever this dish is ordered. The team at The Imperial Hotel have chosen two charities this year: Cork Simon and Irish Guide Dogs.

Speaking to Craving Cork about the new menu, Imperial Hotel Marketing Manger Jazz Glennon mentions:

“Executive Head Chef, Jerome Joyce is working with a vast array of suppliers from County Cork and The English Market; Ballycotton Seafood, Tom Durcan and the world-renowned Fingal Ferguson’s Gubeen Smokehouse to name but a few.”
