It is cuffing season, after all…
If you’re single and ready to mingle, then this speed-dating event might just be for you.
Having had no luck on the dating scene back in 2008, singleton Hugh Redmond decided to chance his arm and join a matchmaking service, and after only a few events, he met the love of his life and the two hit it off immediately and later married.
About 2Connect:
Inspired by his newfound romance, Hugh decided to establish his own matchmaking service and thus 2Connect was born, and has since become one of Ireland’s leading matchmaking services.
If you’ve been having no luck with Tinder, then you’ll be glad to know that 2Connect offers a range of dating alternatives. One of their most popular services is speed dating, and lucky for you, it’s coming to Cork next weekend.
How does Speed-dating work?
Taking place in the romantic and historic Bodega on Cornmarket Street, the speed-dating event will see singletons enjoying eight short dates in one afternoon. There will be two separate dating events on the day: one for 24-34 year olds and one for 30-40 year olds.
Upon arrival, your host will register you and give you a dating card, name badge and pen and will explain how the evening will unfold. Women remain seated on the night while the men rotate tables every 5 minutes when the bill rings. After each date, daters mark their card and indicate if they would like to go on a proper date with the other person or not. Cards are collected by the host at the end of the event, and the following day you receive an email with a list of your matches.
According to Hugh, 75% of speed-dating attendees get matched and go out on proper dates prior to the event:
“My mission is simple: I want to bring romance, mutual respect and flirting back to Ireland’s dating scene. I want to inspire more desire among hopeful singles searching for true connections, that’s why I choose and match my clients very carefully. A key ingredient to dating success is confidence, I offer great coaching sessions and also social networking events to allow my clients connect in a comfortable way.”
The speed-dating event takes place Sunday October 23rd from 3pm. Tickets for both events on the day can be purchased in advanced via the 2Connect website here.
