And what an incredible night it was!
On Saturday 9th March, MII Cork (Marketing Institute Ireland, Cork branch) held the ‘Back to the ‘80’s’ Ball in Vienna Woods Hotel.
The iconic Ball returned with a much-anticipated funky ‘80s twist, as Cork’s marketers took to the dancefloor in their finest black-tie attire and raised an incredible €6,575 for Paul Street based cancer charity Cork Cancer Care Centre through the ever-popular raffle fundraiser.
Dressed to impress in a mixture of black tie and ‘80s ensemble, guests enjoyed a complimentary Disaronno and Kylie Prosecco drinks reception courtesy of drinks sponsor Barry & Fitzwilliam, before taking their places in the ballroom for a delicious four-course meal.
As if that weren’t enough, guests were also gifted a luxury goody bag, a classic MII Cork Ball staple. The famous charity raffle fundraiser also saw several lucky attendees walk away with prizes including hotel stays, shopping vouchers and more.
The sought-after Best Dressed prizes sponsored by Keanes Jeweller’s went to Zahid Aslam and Anna Horan, both from MTU, who wowed the judges with their 80’s get up, and MII Marketing Student of the Year went to Shannon Edwards, MTU, and Alexandra McInerney, UCC.
Popular good time supergroup Spring Break also got toes tapping on the dance floor before a fun-filled DJ set of classic hits closed the night with guests dancing on into the early hours of the morning.
Commenting on the groovy night, Ezara Ahern Easter, Chair of MII Cork said: “The MII Cork Ball is always the highlight of Cork marketers’ social calendars, and we were thrilled to close what has been a year of outstanding educational and networking events with a true ‘80s bang. We see the ball as the cherry on top of the committees’ hard work delivering engaging and topical events and it was great to see so many people enjoying this celebration of the dynamic marketing industry in Cork.”
Johnson & Perrott and Cupra were the motor sponsors on the night, Barry & Fitzwilliam were the drinks sponsor, Audio One sponsored the menus, and Kia sponsored the 360-photo booth.
The Back to the ‘80’s Ball could not have taken place without MII Cork’s brilliant sponsors: B2B Print and B2B Signs (design & print partner), Cork’s RedFM (broadcast partner), Barry & Fitzwilliam (drinks sponsor), Hopkins Communications (PR & communications partner), Peter P. Photograph (photography sponsor) and the Clayton Cork City (accommodation sponsor).
