A beloved Cork city restaurant will be closing after 10 years in business

Tis a sad day indeed.

South-Indian style restaurant Iyer’s have just announced they will be permanently closing their doors after over 10 years of service.

Located on Pope’s Quay, the eatery was first opened by owner Gautham Iyer and his wife Caroline back in 2012, and specialised in homemade Indian vegan and vegetarian cuisine.

Taking to social media to release a statement on the closure, they cafe mentions:

“Today with a mix of emotions, we announce the closure of our beloved family-run restaurant. It is a bittersweet moment as we bid farewell to an incredible journey that has spanned over a decade. We write this message with a profound sense of gratitude, love, nostalgia and excitement for the future.”

The statement goes on to thank the loyal staff and customers of Iyer’s and hints to stay tuned for collabs and pop-ups that are currently in the pipeline.
