The two Cork venues made the shortlist last week.

The IMRO Live Music Venue of the Year Awards shortlist has just been revealed, and two iconic Cork pubs have made the list.

The prestigious awards recognise Irish venues that deliver the very best standards in live music entertainment, with hundreds of venues across Ireland being considered for the award.

Over 20,000 IMRO members were asked to nominate their top choices for the 2024 installation in an online poll, and two incredible Cork venues made the shortlist. Venues were judged based on ambience, staging, sound/lighting facilities, diversity of music programming, accessibility for people with disabilities, venue staff and management.

Crane Lane Theatre and Coughlan’s have both made the list for Munster, alongside Dolan’s in Limerick, Theatre Royale in Waterford and Glór in Co. Clare.

The awards will be presented at the Sugar Club in Dublin on Tuesday March 5th

The IMRO Live Music Venue of the Year Award acknowledges the immense efforts made by music venues across the country, through provision of world class entertainment for their customers, their contribution to the local economy and the role they play in providing a platform for songwriters, composers and performers.
