In case you haven’t heard, the ‘Cork on a Fork’ festival will be returning to Leeside next week, and the city will be absolutely chock-a-block.
The 5-day food festival will be taking place in venues and streets across Cork city from Thursday 17th – Sunday 21st August, and will feature some unique culinary experiences, exciting food trails, epic tasting masterclasses, street events, cooking demos, family-friendly events and more.
Of course, Corks Grand Dame (the Imperial Hotel) will be taking part in the festival, and they promise to offer some pretty interesting culinary events across their three dining outlets:
‘Show Thyme’
To kickstart the festival, the Imperial Hotel will be holding a ‘Show Thyme’ event in, you guessed it, Thyme Restaurant on the South Mall. Taking place on Thursday 17th from 5pm-7pm, guests can enjoy a three-course meal with a glass of Prosecco for €45 whilst being serenaded by dreamy live singer.
Thyme Restaurant plays a huge emphasis on sustainability, along with their brand new Ecolabel of environmental excellence for Green Hospitality, and the menu showcases high quality seasonal produce from local farms and suppliers.
‘Stretch at Sketch’
On a bit of a health-kick? The hotel will be hosting ‘Stretch at Sketch’ on the Saturday, which includes a health shot to kick start the morning before partaking in a 45-minute yoga class with yogi Hazel from the Yoga Tree.
Following your workout, guests will enjoy 3-courses of gorgeous fresh local produce (vegan and vegetarian catered for), and they’ll also be given an energy ball and goodie bag to take home. Oh, and if you’re new to yoga, fear not, as this event is suitable for all levels of experience.
If you can’t make either of the above, the Imperial Hotel will also be running a special lunch each day from 17th-21st in both Sketch and Lafayette’s, along with a very special Cork on a Fork birdcage platter available in Sketch.
Westlife special
That’s not all! If you’re heading to the Westlife concert on Friday 12th, the hotel will be offering a birdcage platter for two plus 2 cocktails for €55 at Sketch from 4pm, along with a 3-course meal at Thyme with complimentary Champagne for €49 per person.
