Caseys Furniture just launched their Christmas window and charity appeal

It’s been a Christmas tradition since 1921!

Earlier this week, Caseys Furniture revealed their iconic Christmas window display on Oliver Plunkett Street and introduced the Caseys Christmas Appeal, embodying the true spirit of Christmas by supporting two deserving children’s charities in Cork and Limerick.

The furniture retailer is now offering their beloved Caseys Bedtime Bear, both in their stores and online, for the festive season. All proceeds from the bear’s sales will go directly to children’s hospital wards at Cork University Hospital (CUH) and University Hospital Limerick (UHL).

This super-soft, high-quality teddy bear is available for just €10 and is adorned in charming vintage blue and white striped pyjamas, making it perfect for a cozy night’s sleep or cuddling on the couch. This presents a wonderful opportunity to give a cute and meaningful gift this Christmas.

Funds raised from the charity appeal will provide vital support to CUH Children’s Services, helping purchase materials and equipment for children in the care of the paediatric unit at UHL in collaboration with their charity, Children’s Ark.

Caseys made this charitable announcement during the unveiling of their annual Christmas window at their Oliver Plunkett Street store, a cherished tradition in Cork. As one of the city’s longest-standing retailers, Caseys has been enchanting the community with their Christmas window displays since 1921.

This year, shoppers can delight in the Caseys Express train, which passes by various local landmarks in Cork, and there’s even a magical post-box inside the store where children can express post their letter to the North Pole.

This year’s window is backdropped by artwork from Fiona at Pear Shaped Studio and was unveiled by Jimmy O’Shea who has worked at Caseys for over 50 years following in the footsteps of his father who enjoyed a long tenure at Caseys. The Caseys Bedtime Bear is a nod to the original bear featured in their traditional window displays over 25 years ago.

Funds raised from the charity appeal will provide vital support to CUH Children’s Services, helping purchase materials and equipment for children in the care of the paediatric unit at UHL in collaboration with their charity, Children’s Ark.

Peter Casey of Caseys Furniture shared his thoughts on the Christmas window and charity appeal, ‘The Caseys Family is extremely proud of creating magical Christmas displays for over a century, connecting generations through cherished traditions.

Additionally, we are committed to supporting these two deserving charities, having donated more than €12,000 to them last year. The return of the iconic Caseys bear is a gesture of gratitude to our loyal customers for their ongoing support and a way to give back to the local community’.

Caseys Furniture was founded by John Casey in Cork in 1921, initially providing furniture to local residents after the devastating Burning of Cork in 1920. The business expanded to Limerick in 2005 and now serves homes throughout Ireland. Caseys is renowned for offering high-quality and stylish home furnishings along with exceptional customer service.

Casey Teddy Bear can be purchased at their multi-award-winning stores on Oliver Plunkett Street Cork, their purpose-built showroom in Raheen Limerick or online at caseys.ie/casey-the-bear
