The perfect pre-drink spots for the Bruce Springsteen gig

It’s going to be one helluva show!

Are you one of the many thousands of Corkonians heading to the big Bruce Springsteen gig this Thursday?

The concert promises to be a night to remember, and here’s hoping the weather holds up!

If you’re searching for somewhere to head for pre (or post) drinks, then we’ve got you covered. In collaboration with Cork Heritage Pubs, here’s our list of the best spots for a pre-concert pint:

El Fenix

You can’t go wrong with a visit to El Fenix before or after the show. Previously featured on our ‘Bars of Cork’ series, El Fenix the perfect mid-point, with fresh pints served right by the Lee in the sun. What more could you want?

Crane Lane Theatre & Canty’s Bar

Crane Lane Theatre and Canty’s Bar on Pembroke Street are always a fan favourite if you want electrical atmosphere before the gigs. The popular lane is set to be full of concert goers drinking and chatting before the gig, and if you’re hungry, there will be a full menu on offer from Arthur Maynes.

Upstairs

Upstairs cocktail bar (located above Arthur Maynes) will be open from 5PM if you need that margarita fix before the walk to Supervalu Páirc uí Chaoimh. All of the craft cocktails here are made using homemade ingredients, and it’s no wonder they’re one of the most popular cocktail bars in the city.

Brennans

If you’re seeking something more subtle, brand new wine bar Brennans has just opened its doors for the first time on Oliver Plunkett Street. Here you can enjoy some top class vino and take in the mesmerising renovation, it will be one for the history books! If you’re not full enough by the time the concert is over, Crane Lane & Arthur Maynes are open until 2.30AM with live bands and DJs 7 Nights A Week.
