Masseytown is Cork’s newest deli, taking up residence on the corner of French Church Street and Paul Street. The cafe opened its doors amidst the pandemic, as owner Tom Creedon noticed a gap in the market for freshly-made, grab & go artisan sandwiches.
Named after Tom’s father’s hometown near Macroom, Masseytown focuses on using only local produce, such as Tom Durcan Meats, East Ferry Chicken and Sage in Midleton. Tom’s concept for Masseytown sandwiches is to use meat fresh from the oven, cut and prepared in front of the customer (it doesn’t get much fresher than that eh?)
Customers can choose from ready-made or freshly prepared sandwiches, free-range rotisserie meat, an extensive salad bar and even fresh, home-baked cakes. Masseytown also has a side hatch, serving Soma coffee and fresh crepes to passersby.
You can get your fix today at 4/5 Paul Street.
