things Africa!

There will be a family fun day for Africa Day Cork 2024, featuring live music and dance, face painting for kids, and a 360 photography booth. There will also be a marketplace where you can get delicious food from lots of vendors, such as Inspired Pastries, Sultan Café, and BBQ Brothers.

Also in the marketplace, you’ll be able to find craft stalls as well as a community group and NGO showcase. Before the fun starts at 12:30pm, there will be a flag raising ceremony at 11am at City Hall, and there will be a flag parade at 11:30am on Parnell Place.

Speaking about this year’s celebrations, Africa Day Cork said, “Gather your loved ones for a day of cultural exploration, live entertainment, delicious cuisine, and community togetherness. Don’t miss out on this fantastic celebration of African diversity and joy!”

Taking place on the 25th of May each year, Africa Day is an initiative of the African Union,
aiming to celebrate African diversity and success as well as the cultural and economic potential of the continent.
