Adam King will be launching his new Christmas book in Cork next week

Adam King, the young boy who captured the hearts of millions with his virtual hug when he appeared on the Late Late Toy Show almost one year ago, will be launching his new Christmas book ‘A Hug For You’ in Cork city next week.

The 7 year old from Killeagh suffers from a rare, lifelong genetic condition of bone and connective tissue known as Osteogenesis Imperfecta. Earlier this year, Adam raised over €266,000 for Cork University Hospital Charity and Temple Street Children’s University Hospital Health Foundation through sales of his Virtual Hugs Valentine’s Day Cards.

His new ‘A Hug For You’ Christmas picture book, written by his father David, is inspired by Adam’s life story and tells the heart-warming story behind Adam’s virtual hug. The book has since been shortlisted for the Irish Book Awards 2021.

Following his appearance on the Late Late Toy Show last year, Adam has received messages from several high profile celebrities, including US President Joe Biden, An Taoiseach Micheál Martin and retired astronaut Chris Hadfield, who said:

“The way that you spoke, the way that you treated everybody around you, the way that you showed us the things that you are dreaming of, I found it really inspiring.”

Adam will be joined by his family for the launch of his book at The River Lee hotel on on Tuesday November 9, and will also be appearing on Tonight’s Late Late Show. ‘A Hug For You’ is available to buy now online and in your local bookstore.
