Are you ready for scary season?
While the kids are trick-or-treating, why not enjoy this spooky selection of Halloween-themed events happening around Cork this year!
Ranging from wholesome to terrifying, check out what the Rebel County has to offer this
Halloween:
The Rocky Horror Picture Show with Mockie Ah
It’s not Halloween without Rocky Horror, and the Mockie Ah crew certainly has an unforgettable show planned! Ireland’s leading Drag Haus has prepared a screening of the iconic movie, including a pre-show cabaret and after-party with the queens and DJs.
Tickets are available here, so get ‘em before they’re gone & get ready to do the time warp again!
Leap Scarecrow Festival
If you’ve driven through Leap during the month of October, you’ve probably noticed that the main street is a bit busier than usual… But we’re not talking about people – it’s the gang of scarecrows that we’re talking about!
Spread out throughout the entire town, Leap’s scarecrows range from spooky-looking ghouls to hilarious creatures that you’d bump into in the pub on a Saturday night! Be careful; you might bump into your ex. Prepare for a gas day out. And watch out for the ghosts in the trees!
Scenic Cinema at Cork City Gaol
You just can’t beat the classics when it comes to Halloween movies. That’s why Scenic Cinema is screening 3 of the best Halloween movies over the bank holiday weekend. Are you a Hocus Pocus fan or do you prefer to re-watch The Blair Witch Project every spooky season?
They’ll also be showing Paranormal Activity, but that’s a bit too scary for me! Check out our article about the Scenic Cinema at the spooky Cork City Gaol here.
Halloween with DJ Rowan
Are you in the mood for an enchanting night on the dance floor this Halloween? Put on your eeriest outfit and get ready to dance to the best tunes supplied by DJ Rowan.
Doors open at 9pm in Cyprus Avenue, so prepare for a thrilling night! Click here for tickets.
Autumn Pumpkin Flower Arrangement Workshop
Possibly the most wholesome Halloween event! This workshop by Bloomsday Flowers is perfect for those of us who aren’t too fond of the scarier side of Halloween but who still want to enjoy the festivities and autumnal colours.
This event is perfect for beginners, and light refreshments will be provided. Take your creation home with you afterwards, and hopefully it’ll be more gorgeous than ghoulish!
You can book tickets here.
Halloween Rave at The Liberty Bar
With performances from 3 great groups – Summerhill, Euanmegroovin, and Behne – this night of music will be truly spooktacular. Throw on a costume and head to The Liberty Bar for their first Halloween rave!
General admission is €5, and tickets can be found here.
The Dragon of Shandon
Why not go for a drink or two in town and then watch the iconic Dragon of Shandon parade? A wickedly brilliant mix of art, music, design, and community, this parade takes the city by storm each year.
The event is organised by Cork Community Art Link and Cork City Communities, and they say, “The event has grown into a real-life urban legend and myth, showcasing a night for the community, built by and with the community of Cork city.” Check out their website for more information.
It’s a classic for a reason – pure spooky & pure Cork, like!
