This West Cork farmhouse hideaway comes with its own sauna & hydrospa

Fancy a romantic getaway over the festive season?

Situated in the Mealagh Valley just 8km from Bantry, Haggart House is a gorgeous 19th century farmhouse that has been tastefully restored with respect to the environment, using reclaimed timber, wood and stone from the farm.

This 2-bedroom heritage farmhouse feels like a beautifully remote hideaway but with every modern creature comfort needed for a relaxing and romantic holiday. The open-plan living room boasts high ceilings with grand apex beams, a church pew and very comfy chairs. The farmhouse is heated by a large wood-burning stove in the centre of the room, and the large dining table (which was made using one of the farms fallen tress) seats a total of 6 guests.

The country-style kitchen comes fitted with modern appliances and a small breakfast bar, with a large window opening onto the patio, giving stunning views of the mountains. A raw, exposed stone wall gives a truly grounding feeling to this space, reconnecting to the natural landscape outside.

Both bedrooms feature queen sized beds, high quality linen and have exposed, whitewashed stone walls throughout, and boast breathtaking views of West Cork.

One of the best features of this Airbnb has to be the ‘leisure suite’, which is basically a chill-out haven. Guests can enjoy a steaming hot sauna, followed by a leisurely soak in the jacuzzi (with a multi-jet hydro spa) whilst watching the ever-changing weather moving across the hills outside. The space also comes with a hanging chair, and is heated by an antique Danish wood-burning stove (sign us up, STAT!)
