The Marina Market just got an eggcellent new addition

Takeaway Eggs Benedict is something we never knew we needed until now.

Introducing your latest obsession: The Egg Bar.

Owned by Jonathan Sheehan of LISHH Café, the Egg Bar opened their brand new stall over the weekend, and they’ve already been receiving fantastic feedback.

The Egg Bar had been previously operating out of The Black Market but decided to relocate to one of Cork’s most thriving gastro-economic hubs, The Marina Market. Now open 7 days a week, the Egg Bar will be serving up eggs-tra special breakfast, brunch and lunch.

Some staple items from their menu include the likes of the prawn Benedict, the classic omelette, the buttermilk chicken and the egg bar brioche, which to be honest is music to our ears as takeaway breakfast/brunch is hard to come by in the city.

It’s been a whirlwind of a journey for owner Johnathan and his family. LISHH Café recently celebrated 10 years in business, and Johnathan is quick to pay tribute to his partner and their families, in addition to staff, customers, and local suppliers who have supported LISHH over the years:

“I could not have done any of this without my partner Patrick, he is always by my side, he has been a rock for me and our families have also been an unwavering support to us throughout both the highs and the lows.

“We have also been so fortunate with our staff and our customers over the years, and I am incredibly lucky to have the team I have. I recently promoted two of my staff – Rita and Kathriona – to both kitchen supervisor and restaurant supervisor and they have both flourished so much in their roles.

Because of this I have been able to side-step a little to develop The Egg Bar. I never have to worry because I know that my staff all support me and support each other.

The Egg Bar is now open at The Marina Market 7 days a week from 8am – 6pm, and be sure to follow their joinery on social media for more updates.
