And it’s here for 5 days only.
Chinese online fast-fashion retailer SHEIN will be opening a temporary pop-up shop in Cork this May.
The €91 billion brand has gained widespread popularity in recent years due to its diverse range of trending clothes items at extremely low prices. Founded in China back in 2008, SHEIN has become one of the biggest names in the fast-fashion industry, operating in over 150 countries.
The brand focuses predominantly on women’s clothing, but has recently began selling everything from menswear, accessories, beauty products, kids clothing and even household appliances.
There have been numerous ethical concerns surrounding the wold’s fastest-growing fashion brands in recent years, with reports of forced labour, large environmental impact, and encouraging cultural appropriation in their marketing campaigns.
Notwithstanding these reservations, SHEIN continues to expand its footprint and is now experimenting with pop-up stores worldwide, with Cork next on the list. They previously held a similar 5-day pop-up shop in Jervis Shopping Centre in Dublin last November offering the first 100 customers a free gift each day.
The new SHEIN pop-up will open right next to Specsavers on Opera Lane from Saturday May 13th – Wednesday May 17th.
