This is very welcome news to us!
A brand new cafe and bakery is about to open in Cork city, and we can’t wait to try it out!
Owned by popular Cork baker Ruairi Domican Byrne, and taking up residence in the former post office on 17 High Street, ‘Ruairi’s Kitchen’ will be opening its doors for the first time very soon.
Award-winning cake smith Ruairi has gone from strength to strength since launching his business during covid. His Insta-worthy creations are absolute show-stoppers, whipping up everything from wedding cakes, birthday cakes, brownies, cupcakes, and more.
I mean, just LOOK at this masterpiece created for us for reaching 50k followers over the summer!
So, what’s the low-down on the new bakery, you ask?
Speaking to Craving Cork about the new venture, Ruairi tells us that the new bakery and cafe will offer a selection of freshly baked cakes, cupcakes, home made sandwiches, salads, quiches, brownies, and more using local, high-quality ingredients.
The cafe will operate as takeaway only to start off, and Ruairi has plans to implement both indoor and outdoor seating once things have settled down.
The former post office building has been idle since closing back in 2022 and it’s due to re-open its doors as ‘Ruairi’s Kitchen’ on November 12th. Keep an eye on their socials here for opening times and more updates.
