And it features some of the country’s top comedians!
Cork City FC is hosting a night of comedy featuring some of the country’s top comedians next week.
‘City ‘Til I Die…Laughing’ will take place in The Everyman, Cork at 8pm on Thursday, January 16th with the proceeds from the ticket sales going towards the club’s Women’s and Academy Teams.
It’s the second time the club has organised a comedy night, which will be hosted by Cork native Ross Browne. He will be joined on the night by Bernard Casey, Enya Martin, Al Porter and Willa White.
There are currently four academy boys teams and two girls teams at the club competing in the League of Ireland Academy leagues. The six squads include players from all over Munster who show great commitment in travelling for training and matches every week.
The goal of the academy is to give every player the opportunity to achieve their potential, whether that is playing at national level with the club, at international level for their country or beyond. The academy also invests a lot of time and skills into building resilience within each of the players and supporting their mental health and wellbeing.
Anthony O’Sullivan, Commercial Director at Cork City FC, said;
“We really enjoyed the last comedy night back in October so we’ve decided to do it again in January. We’re excited about the line-up on the night and I would like to thank Ross and all the other comedians for supporting us in this special fundraiser.
“The Women’s Team and the Academy are doing well with interest increasing all the time. We have seen an increase in interest from young girls in particular who want to play football and it’s important for us to be able to support them and continue their development. So events like this comedy night are crucial to the club. ”
Tickets for ‘City ‘Til I Die…Laughing’ at the Everyman are €35 and are available to purchase from CCFC.ie/comedy
