And it’s for one night only!
Ireland’s leading Drag Haus and pure Cork legends, Mockie Ah!, are delighted to announce that they have a brand new show coming to The Everyman.
This Culture Night, September 20th, Mockie Ah! will make their Everyman debut with ‘Camp Culture’ – a brand new show that will bring Cork drag to legendary levels. Sent to Earth with a mission of making Ireland camp again, the queens will pay homage to classic camp icons, queer legends and meet very special guests along the way.
Part theatre show, part concert, expect big numbers, big guests and even bigger hair!
Selected as one of Ireland’s flagship events for Culture Night 2024 and funded by The Arts Council of Ireland, the show will feature Mockie Ah queens Candy Warhol, Mia Gold, Richard Joke, Kitty Cartier, Angel, Lucy Loose, Robert Von Hart and Kara Kature along with special guests from the worlds of burlesque, dance, music and comedy as well as stunning visuals created by Cork artist Bjornism.
”Bringing Mockie Ah! to The Everyman has always been a big dream of mine”, says producer and host Candy Warhol. ”When I was fourteen I saw my first drag show at The Everyman, my grand-uncle Danny La Rue, and I was in awe. It inspired me to start drag and keeping his legacy alive has always been incredibly important to me so this is a full circle moment.
“We have a spectacular show in store for everyone and releasing free tickets as part of Culture Night makes it accessible to everyone which is really exciting. The night will also mark our seven year anniversary and as part of it, we have a massive announcement to make on the night, but more on that later!”.
Supported by Cork City Council, Promenade Management and The Everyman, 500 tickets will be made free to the public from 10AM on Thursday August 29th through The Everyman website here (excl. booking fees). Tickets will be issued on a first come first served basis and are set to go quickly (last year’s Mockie Ah Culture Night event sold out in two minutes).
