1. Cafe Mexicana (Dine-in)

There’s no better restaurant to start off this list than Cork’s beloved Cafe Mexicana. Nestled away on Carey’s Lane for over 30 years is this extremely charming Mexican gem. The decor in this intimate and cosy restaurant is evocative of Mexico in almost flawless detail, and they have some of the most authentic Mexican cuisine in town.

2. Boojum (Dine-in/counter service/takeaway)

Located on Winthrop Street, this has to be one of the busiest grab & go spots for Mexican in the city. Choose from a wide selection of freshly made-to-order cuisine, such as burritos, fajitas, tacos, burrito bowls, salads, quesadillas, nachos and churros. You can dine-in at the cafeteria-style seating or order your food to go.

3. Tequila Jack’s (Dine-in/takeaway)

This trendy spot is located on the boardwalk on Lapps Quay and overlooks Cork’s lovely Lee. Tequila Jack’s is the perfect spot if you’re looking to head out for dinner with a vibrant bar-style atmosphere. They have insanely delicious cocktails and one of the most extensive tequila menus we’ve ever seen, and what’s more, they even have igloo ‘dome’ pods available for rent on the boardwalk.

4. Burritos & Blues (Dine-in/counter service/takeaway)

Burritos & Blues is another hugely popular grab & go Mexican joint in the city. Tucked away next to Ginos and Wetherspoons on Paul Street, this charming spot serves some of the finest pulled carnitas pork in the city. Top tip: order the grande burrito if you’re famished (it’s essentially two burritos in one!)

5. Old Town Taqueria (Dine-in/takeaway)

If you’re on the hunt for a decent taco, say no more. Old Town Taqueria is Cork’s newest taco joint, situated inside BDSM on North Main Street. Known for their delicious birria tacos, Old Town Taqueria also serves tasty quesadillas, cheesy nachos, stewy pozole and mouth-watering churros.

6. La Calavera Burrito Bar (counter service/takeaway)

Head over to La Calavera if you’re out and about in Douglas. This intimate spot serves all the Mexican classics, has an extensive taco menu, and also serves sweet potato fries, Mexican-style wings, power bowls, and kids size cheesy quesadillas.

7. Amigo’s (dine-in/counter service/takeaway)

Last but certainly not least we have Amigo’s. Tucked away on Washington Street, this spot not only serves Mexican food, but also does tasty Turkish kebabs too. Choose from a selection of the usual Mexican suspects, as well as an extensive kebab menu, chip menu, and vegetarian menu.
