Gregory Porter is the first headliner for the 2024 Cork Jazz (and tickets are already on sale!)

The Guinness Cork Jazz Festival has just announced its first headline act for 2024 –the incomparable Gregory Porter.

A double Grammy Award winner and renowned worldwide as one of the greatest jazz artists of our time, Porter is set to captivate audiences at the Cork Opera House on a night that promises to be nothing short of spectacular.  Tickets go on sale today (Wednesday 20th) December at 12pm.

Fresh off his mesmerising performances on The Late Late Show and the Graham Norton Show, where he enthralled audiences with his soulful voice and charismatic stage presence, Gregory Porter is making a triumphant return to Ireland after a seven-year hiatus.

Porter’s announcement as the first headliner for the Guinness Cork Jazz Festival 2024 comes on the heels of the festival’s immensely successful 2023 edition, which left audiences buzzing for more. This early announcement is a great sign that the festival, which will celebrate its 46th year, is gearing up for an even more extraordinary celebration of jazz and music in 2024.

Festival Director Mark Murphy said, “We are absolutely thrilled to announce Gregory Porter as our first headline act.  His talent is extraordinary and sets the bar as we create another stellar weekend line-up which will feature jazz greats and Irish and international musicians and emerging talent who are pushing the boundaries of the genre.”

Joining Porter on stage at the Cork Opera House are his talented ensemble, including longtime pianist Chip Crawford, Emmanuel Harrold on drums and percussion, Gregoire Maret on harmonica, Jahmal Nichols on bass, Ondre Pivec on Hammond organ, and Tivon Pennicott on flute, soprano saxophone, and tenor saxophone.

Tickets for Gregory Porter’s headline performance at the Guinness Cork Jazz Festival 2024 will go on sale today at 12pm on guinnesscorkjazz.com and are expected to sell quickly. They are priced at €55 + booking fee €60 + booking fee for seats.
