And it’ll create over 100 new jobs in the next year
EHS International, the new single-source Irish environmental, health and safety (EHS) company officially launched yesterday with an investment of €5 million.
Led by Cork businessman and EHS specialist Chris Mee, the company currently has a team of 20 and is poised to create at least another 80 new jobs both nationally and internationally within the next 12 months.
The company’s new Irish offices are based in Monahan Road in Cork and in Ballymount, Dublin. The €5 million investment includes a 1.5-acre state-of-the-art Fire and Rescue training facility, which is being developed in Little Island, Cork.
Speaking at the launch, EHS International CEO, Chris Mee said: “With over 30 years of front-line experience in the EHS fields, I know the landscape very well and we have identified a gap in the current market. Companies require a comprehensive, single-source service provider for their essential environment, health, and safety needs and not a variety of suppliers. We want to help our clients save time and money while ensuring they are getting the best advice, assistance, and results.
“To this end, we have assembled a large and impressive team of senior EHS and management experts with extensive knowledge, skills, and experience. Furthermore, we have solidified strategic alliances with various EHS partners, such as leading Irish occupational health provider, Cognate Health. We are also committed to carrying out several strategic acquisitions over the next 12 months.
“This highlights our unwavering dedication to excellence and growth. We want to lead the way in best solutions for our sector, positioning us as the premier EHS provider, not only in Ireland and the UK, but further afield.”
The company has assembled a strong senior team with managers in the following areas — Finance; EHS Operations; Mergers and Acquisitions; EHS-related projects; Technology strategies; Food Safety, Recruitment and fire-related solutions. EHS International is currently on a recruitment drive for senior specialists and graduates in safety, environment and related management areas.
