Dubray Books, who already have outlets in Dublin, Galway and Wicklow, is set to open their first Cork premises on Patrick Street.
The popular chain will be occupying No 83-85 Patrick Street, right next door to Golden Discs on the corner of Carey’s Lane, and is set to open just in time for Christmas in November. The store will be open across two of the four floors in the building, with the remaining two to be used for office space and storage.
Marketing Manager for Dubray Books, Susan Walsh said “Dubray has long aspired to open in Cork.”
“The thriving arts scene, wealth of local writing talent, and a strong publishing tradition in the city makes it an obvious choice for a bookseller that enjoys engaging with its community.”
According to Ms Walsh, the Patrick Street premises was chosen because they wanted a location on par with the flagship store on Grafton Street in Dublin, and the size and historical aspect of this particular building fit the bill perfectly.
Dubray has taken out a 10-year lease on the property, which couldn’t have come at a better time as Cork is soon to loose it’s flagship Eason store to multi-brand luxury retailer, Flannels.
