You can get a BTS look at the Dragon of Shandon parade next weekend

Calling all art enthusiasts!

If you haven’t experienced the Dragon of Shandon Samhain Parade, then you’re missing out!

Every year on Halloween night, thousands of spectators flock to the city centre to watch the annual Dragon of Shandon Samhain Parade, made up of various spooky artistic masterpieces, bands, floats and the iconic 36 foot dragon, all created by local artists at the Cork Community Art Link.

And this year, for Culture Night 2024, Cork Community Art Link will host an Open Studio on the day from 5.30 to 8.30 where they will members of the public to come see their workshop and what they are creating for the famous Dragon of Shandon parade.

Cork Community Art Link will be open to the public for Culture Night Cork City on Friday, September 20th

As a community arts organisation that has spent over 30 years empowering communities to express themselves through art, and contribute to the cultural life of the city, they feel privileged to make Blackpool their home, and particularly in this once fine cinema that was first opened in 1920.

So, if you want to visit, get a tour around their building, watch a documentary of the Dragon of Shandon parade, have a chat with them about anything at all, then they’d love to see you on Cork City Culture Night, Friday September 20th.
