You might not have guessed it, but the comedy scene in Cork is absolutely thriving at the moment and if you haven’t been to one before, it’s honestly such fun night out!
We’ve taken the liberty of compiling a list of our favourite comedy clubs/shows in the city (in no particular order):
City Limits Comedy Club
Now in it’s 28th year running, City Limits is a staple comedy club in Cork. Located on Couberg Street, the space is large enough to hold 200 people but still intimate enough to see the passion in the comics eye. Check out their website here for upcoming gigs.
CoCo Comedy Club
Located inside The Roundy in Cork, a night at the CoCo Comedy Club is guaranteed to leave you in stitches. They have four different comedy show experiences each week from Thursday – Sunday, from up-and-comers to more experienced comedians. See their site here for the weekly lineup.
Comedy Cabaret
Comedy Cabaret is Cork’s newest comedy club located upstairs in the stunning Pavilion bar on Carey’s Lane. The night runs once a month and features 5-6 comedians ranging in style and experience with a main headliner each month. Check out their Instagram for updates on their next monthly show.
Crüe Comedy Club
Crüe Comedy Club is a bi weekly comedy show at Fred Zeppelins bar on Parliament Street. Hosted by Ray Murphy and Jack Kirby, entry is free and the shows typically take place on a Wednesday from 8:30pm. See their Instagram account for more updates.
Any Craic Comedy Club
Hosted by Adam Raymond, Any Craic Comedy Club is another great addition to the list. This club travels to different venues across the city and county and has a weekly night at the brand new Liberty bar every Monday. Tickets for upcoming shows can be ordered via their website here.
The Comedy Cavern
Based in Coughlans Bar on Douglas Street, The Comedy Cavern features some of the best comics from Ireland and the UK. Shows take place ad-hoc and often sell out in advance. See their website for the full list of upcoming shows.
Midtown Comedy Club
Midtown Comedy Club is a brand new comedy night which takes place every Wednesday night at Clancy’s on Princes Street. Some of their guests already include the likes of Stephen Mullan, who previously opened for the iconic Joanne McNally. Check out their website here for more updates.
