Fancy running away with the circus?
The Circus Factory is hosting a week of circus taster classes from September 9th – 12th at its own venue on Centre Park road, offering intro classes for skills such as Hula Hoop, Aerial Silks, Handstands, Trapeze and Acrobatics.
They will be swinging their doors open for adults to try out different circus classes before committing to a 12-week term. The taster classes take place in the evenings and are open to over 18s, and don’t worry, they welcome those with absolutely no prior experience in Circus.
Tamsin O’ Callaghan, a current member at Circus Factory started Circus two years ago with no experience. She started with a taster class then signed up for the term. She says:
“Everyone has always been so welcoming and nice and supportive. It’s a really lovely community to be a part of. With exams and work this has always been a fun place to escape to”.
Circus classes at Circus Factory offer a fun and exciting introduction to the world of circus arts. These classes are perfect for those looking to try something new, improve their fitness, or explore their creative side in a supportive and inspiring environment. Member Mags Daly says:
“My favourite thing about Circus is the freedom to play and find my own movements and shapes. And the fact that two people can do the same sequence and it each will be completely unique.”
At the end of the 12-week term of classes, students are invited to participate in Circus Factory’s “Student Showcase” where they show off skills and routines they developed during their training. They can also volunteer backstage if performing isn’t their thing.
Circus Factory offers classes for adults and youth as well as workshops for professionals. They also host in house cabarets and showcases all year round. In Autumn they hold an annual festival, Pitch’d Circus and Street Arts Festival.
