Casey’s Furniture just unveiled their new Christmas windows

And they’ve launched a special appeal to go with it

Caseys Furniture have unveiled their iconic Christmas window on Oliver Plunkett Street and this year they’ve also launched a Caseys Christmas Appeal, to help give back to two very worthy children’s charities in Cork and Limerick.

The furniture retailer is selling their signature Caseys Bedtime Bear in their stores and online for the festive season with 100% of proceeds going to children’s hospital wards in Cork University Hospital (CUH) and University Hospital Limerick (UHL).

The super-soft high quality teddy bear will retail for just €10 and is dressed in adorable vintage blue and white striped pyjamas, ready for a great night’s sleep in a comfy bed or cuddles on the couch.

The charity announcement came as Caseys revealed this year’s Christmas window at their Oliver Plunkett Street store last week, which has become one of the must-see Christmas traditions in Cork since 1921.

In an effort to be as sustainable as possible, Caseys have reused past decorations, will utilise LED bulbs as part of the festive display, and will offset energy from other parts of the shop.

All money raised from the charity appeal will support the invaluable services and facilities of CUH Children’s Services and will be used to purchase material and equipment for children in the care of the paediatric unit at UHL in association with their charity Children’s Ark.

Commenting on their Christmas window and charity appeal, Peter Casey of Caseys Furniture, said:

“Caseys have been creating magical Christmas windows for more than a hundred years across three generations.  Planning for this year’s window started in September and it’s fantastic to see it come to life today. It’s such a sense of pride for us when we see people coming to the store with their families over the festive period to view our display.

“We are also thrilled to continue to support two very worthy charities, who we donated more than €16,000 to in our centenary year last year. When marking our 100th year in business we decided to bring back the iconic Caseys bear to thank our loyal customers for their ongoing support and to give back to the community locally. I’m sure that Casey Bear will make a treasured member of the family or a special Christmas gift.”

From small beginnings, John Casey established Caseys Furniture in Cork in 1921, supplying furniture to local residents after the burning of Cork, which decimated a large part of the city in 1920.  It expanded into Limerick in 2005. The business delivers to homes throughout Ireland and is widely recognised for providing superb quality and stylish home furnishings as well as an exceptional service to customers.

Casey Teddy Bear can be purchased at their multi-award-winning stores on Oliver Plunkett Street Cork, their purpose-built showroom in Raheen Limerick or online at caseys.ie/casey-the-bear.
