You’re going to want to try ALL of these!
With Pancake Tuesday just around the corner, you can be sure that Cork has plenty of options for pancake lovers in the city. Since pancake toppings are as unique as each person eating them, there are nearly too many cafés and restaurants to choose from – but we’ll never complain about too many pancakes!
Here are 10 of our favourite pancake spots that you have to try this Pancake Tuesday (in no particular order):
Perry Street
With 4 locations to choose from – City Centre, Ringaskiddy, Grange, and Dripsey – Perry Street café has you sorted for Pancake Tuesday. Their American-style pancakes are served all day: choose from toppings such as grilled bacon and maple syrup; berry compote and whipped cream; or Nutella, strawberry compote, and whipped cream. Or maybe try all 3 options!
Good Day Deli
Good Day Deli’s pancakes are famous for a reason: a hibiscus poached pear and coconut Irish mascarpone sit on top of buttermilk pancakes with a honey drizzle. Need we say any more? And yes, they’re as delicious as they look! Sip on a West Cork Coffee while you’re at it and now you’ve got the perfect Pancake Tuesday. Stunning!
Joes + Bros
We couldn’t have a pancake list without including the legends that are Joe’s + Bro’s. Their triple stacked buttermilk pancakes will have you turning into Sabrina in that episode (you know the one). You can grab a stack of their gourmet pancakes are available over at their Gilabbey Street location.
Brown’s Brasserie
New kids on the block Brown’s Brasserie are serving up a seriously tasty pancake menu all day on Tuesday, and it looks delish! Choose from Very Berry, Chocolate, Cinnamon Apple, Benedict or Pancakes & Bacon. You can find them at Brown Thomas on Patrick Street.
Lab 82
Another great pioneer of the pancake scene is Lab 82 over by the train station. These guys went viral for their insane stacks back in 2019, and it’s easy to see why. Their thick, double stacked gourmet pancakes are truly one of a kind. Choose from favourites such as banoffee, Oreo, kinder bueno, classic or American-style.
Liberty Grill
You’ll be spoiled for choice in Liberty Grill on Tuesday – and every day – as they’re serving their liberty silver dollar pancakes, johnnycakes (cornmeal pancakes) that are vegan, and even French toast (we get it, sometimes you’re just not in the mood for pancakes!)
Top your pancakes or johnnycakes with maple syrup, chocolate sauce, warm maple butter, or strawberry sauce. Delish. You can also add maple fried banana, wild blueberry compote, or smoked bacon. Go on, go wild – you deserve it!
The SpitJack
Just in case you needed even more mouth-watering pancake options, The SpitJack has a complete pancake menu! Launching on the 12th of February and available until the 16th, there are 10 different pancakes to choose from. Why not try the Very Berry? Or Banoffee? Or even the Buffalo Chicken pancake if you want something a bit spicier! We’re actually drooling thinking of all these pancakes…!
Bells Café
Another newcomer to the list this year is Bells Café. Located opposite Bells Field at the top of Patrick’s Hill, these guys specialise in mouth-watering crepes and delicious coffee with a view. Our Cravourtie has to be the signature coconut jam and butter crepe served with fresh strawberries (DELISH!)
Crepe Cuisine
If you’re looking for more of a gourmet crepe with all the trimmings then head over to Crepe Cuisine at Regional Park in Ballincollig. With an entire sweet and savoury crepe menu to choose from, there’s something to suit every palette.
Beantown Café
Fancy some American-style pancakes? Beantown Café has got you covered. Topped with banana slices, chocolate sauce, and dusted with icing sugar, these pancakes will keep you full until next year’s Pancake Tuesday! Add some cream on the side, of course – this breakfast will have you thinking it’s a dessert!
