Feelin’ fruity?
Chefs at the Metropole Hotel in Cork City have teamed up with local producers to create a new summer-themed afternoon tea.
Head Chef Mark Cronin and Pastry Chef Alicja have curated an exciting menu incorporating a range of locally grown berries, teaming up with Irish strawberry growers from around county Cork.
The sweet and savoury selection includes West Cork Strawberries Pavlova & Chantilly Cream, Raspberry & Plum Clafoutis, White Chocolate Blondie with Blueberry Gel, and Cucumber, Mint & Crème Fraiche on Granary Bread.
Diners will also be treated to a summer berries welcome cocktail made from Moineir Irish black berry wine from Wicklow along with gin, lemon juice and sugar syrup.

PATISSERIE
- Raspberry and Lime Delice on Crushed Hazelnuts
- West Cork Strawberries Pavlova and Chantilly Cream
- Chocolate Marquise with Marinated Raspberries
- Strawberry tartlet with Lemon Curd
BAKERY
- Freshly Baked Scones Strawberry Preserve, with Irish Salted Butter and Fresh Cream
- Raspberry and Plum Clafoutis
- White Chocolate Blondie, Blueberry Gel
SAVOURY
- Egg Mayonnaise in a Brioche Bun
- Poached Chicken and Gubbeen Chorizo with Roasted Red Pepper Romesco
- Poached Prawn in a Lemon Mayonnaise on Edward Buckley Soda Bread
- Cucumber, Mint and Crème Fraiche on Granary Bread
