This sounds just delightful!
Awen recently opened it’s doors for the first time in Cobh, and Craving Cork was lucky enough to get a first look at the beautiful new space.
Awen is a unique tattoo and healing space that focuses on promoting self love, self care and inclusivity to all who walk through their doors. They offer a spiritual approach to the art of tattooing, and honour the tattoo experience in a safe, beautiful healing space which is inclusive to everyone (how lovely!)
Speaking to Craving Cork earlier today, Social Media and Marketing Manger Megan O’ Driscoll mentions that:
“Awen was dreamed up during lockdown and opened in July 2021, inspired by ancient tattoo rituals and the societal need for healing. We welcome people in to heal and enjoy the space with us.”
Awen offers a host of unique services to its customers, such as traditional hand poked and machine tattoos, healing tattoo experiences, tarot card readings, sound bath healing, and even yoga retreats.
They recently held their first community event, the ‘Soul Soothing Sound Scape’, which was a 2-hour sound bath and restorative meditation experience hosted by Mel. Mel used Tibetan sound bowls and guided meditation to help people unwind and relax, calling more peace, bliss and joy into their lives. The sold-out event was fantastic for people suffering with anxiety, depression, stress and other mental health issues.
They are also currently planning a fundraiser for Cobh Rescue Horses, and they are also planning a special retreat in November, all of which will be announced soon on their social media channels.
