4 tasty spots to grab an açaí bowl in Cork

Have you hopped on the açaí bowl bandwagon yet?

Açaí bowls have become hugely popular over the last decade, and now they’re taking Cork by storm. But what exactly are they?

Açaí (pronounced ah-sigh-ee) comes from the açaí berry grown in South America, and is largely known as a superfood, renowned for it’s many health benefits. Açaí bowls are essentially smoothie bowls, and consist of flash frozen and pulped açaí berries, which are pureed with other fruit and typically topped with a variety of seeds, granola, fruit, peanut butter, etc (you get the gist).

Here’s our go-to list of açaí bowls in Cork:

Joes + Bros

Definitely a must-try! You can get your fix from either of their two locations, at 22 Gillabbey Street or Winthrop Arcade (our Craveourite is the PB Açaí bowl!)

Cafe Gusto

Cafe Gusto also has two locations to choose from, one on Washington Street and a smaller cafe on Lapps Quay. They only have one açaí bowl on the menu, but they have it down to a T!

Bean & Berry

These guys are a little further out, but if you’re passing Garretstown beach you’ll find the Bean & Berry food truck Wednesday – Sunday from 9:30am -5pm. They even have live music on certain days, so be sure to keep an eye on their Instagram for announcemnts

Voulez Brew

Also a little further afield is the cleverly named Voulez Brew. You can catch them at their food truck at Inchydoney Beach Monday – Saturday from 9:30am – 4:30pm
