Cork Opera House has just announced their new 2023/24 season and there truly is something for the whole family.

From homegrown talent to international acts, comedy favourites to West End productions, the new programme is full to the brim of captivating and passionate performances.

Here are 10 shows that you can’t miss at Cork Opera House this season:

1. Cork City Ballet presents Swan Lake

2nd – 4th Nov

If you’ve never seen Swan Lake, now’s your chance!

Cork City Ballet’s Swan Lake promises to be spectacular, from the opulent costumes to the alluring sets, especially the opening scene’s gold-tinged, tree-framed park in the shadow of the great castle and lake.

All the well-loved elements are still in place including the magical “white acts”, with the famous cygnets’ dance for four girls; the exquisite white swan pas de deux; and the Act III climactic ‘Black Swan’ pas de deux complete with thirty-two fouettés – all wrapped up in Tchaikovsky’s glorious score.

2. Vincent Simone – Tango Passions

5th Nov, 7PM

Strictly Come Dancing Legend and Argentine Tango King, Vincent Simone, returns to Cork with his brand new show. Accompanied by world-class Argentine Tango specialists, let the original Italian Stallion take you on a journey to Buenos Aires and enjoy his dancing, tales and poetry about the history of the Argentine Tango.

Tango Passions also stars Argentine Tango specialist Paula Duarte as Vincent’s leading lady. Featuring music from Astor Piazzolla and Gotan Project.

3. Jack & the BeanstalkThe Skechers and Cork Opera House Panto

2nd Dec – 21st Jan

This is the Panto you’ve bean waiting for. Full of fe-fi-fo-FUN, join Jack, Nanny Nellie and a host of lovable companions in a spectacular show packed with amazing colour, spellbinding costumes, music, breath-taking dance, and a tonne of belly laughs!

4. Improv Panto

It’s a different Panto EVERY night!

The Improv Panto makes a welcome return to Cork Opera House this December, celebrating over a decade of bringing the laughs during our festive season.

What’s become an annual tradition for many, the much-loved Improv Panto is a recipe for chaos, craic, on-the-spot songs, insane dialogue and laughter. Ideal for Christmas and Office parties – this is panto as you’ve truly never seen it before.

5. The Cork Opera House Christmas Concert

18th & 19th Dec, 8PM

Taking place over two nights, the annual Cork Opera House Christmas Concert will be a hit with the whole family. This year the programme will feature a number of popular Christmas hit songs as well as choral numbers and carols, with some ‘fairy tale’ duets from the Cara O’Sullivan Associate Artists! Patrons can expect to hear classics such as ‘A Spaceman Came Travelling’, ‘It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas’ and ‘All I want for Christmas is You’.

6. Adam Rowe – What’s Wrong With Me?

24th Jan, 8PM

Widely regarded as one of the most exciting, young comics in the world; Adam Rowe has risen from a prodigious newcomer to an international headline act, since his debut in 2010.

His natural, laid back persona combined with brutally honest, opinionated stand-up and his phenomenal ad-libbing ability make each of his performances unique, gloriously unpredictable and, most importantly, always hilarious.

​Adam has starred on the UK’s flagship stand-up show Live At The Apollo (BBC) as well as Roast Battle (Comedy Central) and The Stand-Up Sketch Show (ITV).

7. LYRA

Due to phenomenal demand, LYRA has announced a second date at Cork Opera House on 20 Feb after her first date sold out in just 24 hours.

LYRA is one of the most striking talents to have emerged from Ireland in the past few years. Hailing from County Cork, she’s established herself on both the domestic and international stage with a string of exciting, vibrant singles accompanied by a unique style of visual presentation that is never less than stunning.

The last year has been particularly thrilling for LYRA, with her dancefloor collab with John Gibbons on Stevie Nicks’ classic ‘Edge Of Seventeen’ reaching 4M streams and counting.

Her new single ‘Lovers’ gets the love hearts pumping under the mirrorball and is out now!

8. Spencer & Vogue LIVE!

10. Pretty Woman – The Musical
