10 new openings to check out in Cork this summer

We’re spoilt for choice!

It’s great to see the city so busy and full of life, especially on the sunny summer days that make Cork feel better than any of those fancy cities on the continent!

So, if you’re visiting Cork, you’re new to the city, or you’re pure Cork and know it like the back of your hand, here are some new openings in the city that you definitely have to check out.

Whether it’s bars, restaurants, or cafés you’re looking for, we’ve got your summer plans sorted with this list. Bon appétit!

1. Seventy Seven

This glam new bar is open on Grand Parade, and you already know the address – yup, 77! Serving up lunch, dinner, and cocktails, this bar has live music 7 days a week, so it’s definitely a great place to catch up with friends and enjoy a few drinks. Seventy Seven opens at 10am during the week, so you could always head back there after a late night for a pastry and a coffee!

2. Old Brennan’s

Cork’s newest wine and tapas bar can be found where Brennan’s Cookshop used to be. With a great selection of nibbles, small plates, sharing boards, and sweet dishes to choose from, Old Brennans is the perfect spot for cozy and relaxed meetings with friends over the summer. Their wine list features Cork and Irish produce, so you can sip away for the night knowing you’re supporting local – you can’t get better than that!

3. Old Bear

From one old-but-new location to another old-but-new location, Old Bear on Barrack Street is the city’s oldest pub, opening its doors way back in 1698. But don’t worry, the interior is definitely updated and free of any cobwebs! They have 23 types of beer as well as wine and alcohol spritzers, so it’s definitely the place to be for the next big match that’s on the telly.

4. Tongue Tied Deli

You already know them from their handcrafted hot sauce; now, Tongue Tied has opened a deli at The Black Market. Be prepared for the queue, but it’s worth it because their sandwiches will keep you full for the week! Open Wednesday to Sunday from 12pm – 8pm, that’s your next sandwich sorted. Think you can handle the heat?

5. Naturally Nourished, North Point Business Park

Well-known and fan-favourite Naturally Nourished has a new location in North Point Business Park, Blackpool. In this location, they’re serving up more of their delicious dishes and healthy snacks to even more Cork people! Definitely check out their new café over the summer as well as their other cafés on Penrose Dock and in City Gate, Mahon.

6. Nádúr Deli

Another Cork institution is Good Day Deli. Recently opening a smaller café, Nádúr Deli, on the plaza of Nano Nagle Place, their mouth-watering menu features breakfast pastries, all day sandwiches, and delicious cakes. Sourcing all their ingredients and products locally and seasonally, Nádúr Deli (‘Nádúr’ meaning ‘nature’ in Irish) will certainly have you at one with nature while you’re in the heart of the city!

7. Mayumi

With a multi-coloured menu of Japanese and Filipino dishes, Mayumi is definitely a place to try this summer. You can find the restaurant at Ballincollig Shopping Centre, and they’re open from Tuesday to Sunday, 12:30pm – 9pm. If you’re looking to cool down from the summer heat, we recommend trying their halo-halo – a colourful dessert that’s made up of layers of sweet beans, jellies, tropical fruits, leche flan, and shaved ice.

8. Perch

Looking for your new favourite coffee spot in the a.m. and wine spot in the p.m.? Perch at The Kingsley has got you covered with a beautiful venue, breakfast options, sweet treats, and sharing plates in the evening. Open from 8am – 5pm every day, we won’t be surprised if Perch becomes your new perch to sit down, eat, drink, and enjoy the beautiful view.

9. Here’s Health Café

Now with their second café in Cork open, Here’s Health is really fuelling the city with its great selection of açaí bowls, smoothies, snacks, sandwiches, and more. The Oliver Plunket Street café is a great place to grab a drink (definitely try their iced lavender matcha!) and watch the world go by. Who knew being healthy could be so relaxing – and delicious?!

10. Ruairi’s Kitchen

It’s not open yet, but keep your eyes peeled for Ruairi’s Kitchen deli and bakery at the old post office on High Street. Opening hopefully towards the end of the year, prepare to be spoiled for choice with delicious cakes, sandwiches, and salads, as well as coffee with beans supplied by Café Moly. Judging by the incredible cakes on their Instagram, there’s going to be a long line out the door of Ruairi’s Kitchen, but it’ll definitely be worth the wait.
